VERSACE DESIGN, TAG AIRCRAFT INTERIORS TO PROVIDE EXCLUSIVE JET INTERIORS FOR SELECT CUSTOMERS COMPANY PREVIEWS EXCLUSIVE SIGNATURE PIECE AT NBAA
(Orlando, October 16, 2006) - Gianni Versace S.p.A. of Milan showcases its latest bespoke service at the National Business Aviation Association convention in Orlando, Florida, October 17-19, previewing the first exclusive Versace Design signature pieces.
In April this year in Milan, Versace announced its new partnership with TAG Group, parent company of TAG Aviation, to create an exclusive interior design service for the owners of private jets. TAG Aircraft Interiors Ltd. (TAG-AI), will act as marketing and sales agents for the partnership. The first interiors concepts for “Versace” jets were presented at the Farnborough International Airshow in July.
For this year’s NBAA convention, Versace Design shows the photograph of an armchair, created as a proof of concept for a prospective client for a large private jet.
Versace Design offers the ultimate in seating, combining the functional and the decorative. This armchair is inspired by the Versace home couture collection, and has been designed to offer the utmost in luxury and comfort and the highest level of craftsmanship.
Made with the best Versace Italian leathers, the armchair offers a white leather base with an embossed Versace signature Greek Key fret centrally placed, with decorative contemporary silver steel inserts on the hand rests. The back is embossed with the finest black Italian leather and offers full head and leg rests for maximum comfort.
The armchair was manufactured for Versace by Syncro Aircraft Interiors, Inc. of Van Nuys, CA.
Versace Design provides a comprehensive interior design service, which operates much as an architect’s studio would. Clients collaborate creatively with completion center technical designers to conceive the ideal, personalised interior spaces; Versace then turns these requirements into reality at the client’s chosen completion center.
Together, TAG-AI and Versace are have been developing a range of jets with Versace interiors as well as exterior paint schemes. Aircraft include the market’s largest private jets, such as the Bombardier Global Express XRS and Global 5000, the Gulfstream G 550 and the Boeing BBJ/737.
Applying a unique interior design philosophy to aircraft requires the expertise of specialists in aircraft design and management, and for this reason, Versace is collaborating with TAG-AI, leaders in this field. Versace and its designers will be responsible for all aspects of content, design and style. TAG, with its 30 years experience in the sale, completion and management of private jets, will take care of the logistical and technical aspects of the interior completion contracts.
Versace Design creates designs to address all their clients’ challenges: professional, domestic, holiday resort and now, private jet. Versace will help those who fly in style to establish the floor plan of their aircraft and then create an exquisite and uniquely personal luxury interior. The service was conceived to answer the needs of the most discerning customers.
Each custom interior will be unique. In true couture style, the wishes of the individual will be taken into account, and this will determine the extent of patterns used, the combination of materials, and the configuration of the cabinetry and seating and sleeping areas which comprise the full interior environment. This is a “turn key service”, offering all components of the finished interior - lamps, vases, plates, glasses, tables, and furniture.
Giancarlo Di Risio, CEO of the Versace Group said: “Versace is not just about fashion, but about luxury in every aspect of life. This agreement has been made with the desire to respect the DNA of this company, which truly represents Italian luxury style. For this project, TAG-AI is the ideal partner, because its long experience in aviation puts it in first place among the best managers of private and charter aircraft, and its exclusive clientele mirrors that of the Maison Versace”.
TAG Group SA said: “We are extremely pleased to collaborate with Versace in the creation and marketing of exclusive aircraft interiors. Techniques d’Avant Garde, the full name of the TAG Group, encourages and maintains the spirit with which the company has always sought to enter into new endeavours, and to achieve the standard of excellence that distinguishes the company. We are confident that our aviation experience, and Versace’s creativity and decorative materials know-how, will result in the most sought-after interiors for the most discriminating clients in the aviation business.”
The basis for the Versace Design look comes from the furniture, fittings and furnishings, which the house produces for its home collection. Versace has long been synonymous with interior design, as it was the first fashion house to create a home wear collection, and the first house to create a branded hotel. The move into design for aviation is a logical extension of the house’s expertise in this field, and is another first for a fashion brand.
Versace Home is a collection steeped in luxury, using the finest quality materials and the most exclusive finishes and detailing. Today the collection is strongly rooted in the dramatic contrast afforded by the juxtaposition of black and white. House signatures include the use of the Greek fret motif derived from classical antiquity, and stylised prints, like the huge rose inspired by the dreamlike Twenties fashion designs of Paul Poiret. As with Versace clothing, the home collection incorporates references to the past with an ultra-modern approach to elegance. Clean, decisive lines and luxurious materials and textures, notably leather and fur, create an environment which is a statement of the best taste, the highest standards of quality and the most rigorous expectations of exclusivity.
